An Industrial Fossil

Most East German factories were industrial relics from the late nineteenth or early twentieth centuries. The stubby chimneys of this works at Moelbis, near Leipzig, puffed out nauseous clouds of unfiltered toxic smoke that deposited blankets of filth on the surrounding area.
